Side-view mirrors on driver and passenger side have become very dulled resulting in loss of complete effectiveness of viewing. It appears that something has caused the silver in the mirrors to disintegrate. This is a 1999 ford expedition. I have contacted ford and the local dealer and neither would offer to remedy at their expense since the warranty period had expired.

Nar 3-11-03 the consumer has experienced several problems with his ford expedition, the side view mirrors have turned back from the inside, the top of the shift handle broke off, and all the tires had to be replaced before a firestone recall had been issued.
